How Can We Stay Safe?

Students should always have adult supervision

Prepare for weather with sunscreen, raincoats, layers, etc

Bring water

Research dangerous plants and animals near your home (ie poison oak, stinging nettle)

Wear proper footwear

Know what an organism is before interacting

Make sure the land you are exploring away from home is open to the public

Respect living plants and animals

Do not feed wildlife

Leave only footprints, take only pictures

Be aware of how your noise level may be affecting other explorers and critters

Pick up trash you find, leave spaces cleaner than you find them

Stay on trail and be aware of park regulations
