Surround Sound

Target Age Group/Grade: 3rd-6th grade

Estimated Time: 20 mins- 1 hour

Summary:

Parents can expect students to spend reflective alone time outside to practice listening and mapping the sounds they hear around them.


Learning Goals:

  • Students practice spending quiet time alone

  • Students will be able to spend time reflecting outside

  • Students will practice active/intentional listening skills

  • Students will map out the sounds around them

Materials Needed:

  • A place to sit alone outside (This could look like a lot of ways, a picnic table, a park, a sidewalk curb, up in a tree, etc)

  • Paper + Clipboard or a journal

  • Pencil/Pen/Markers/Crayons
